Marrakech is the fourth-largest city in Morocco. It is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco and is the capital of the Marrakech–Safi region. The city lies west of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
Imlil and the Atlas Mountains
Imilil is a small village on the road travelers take for skiing and trekking in the high Atlas Mountains. Many hikes abound through small villages and in the National Park. An optional overnight is offered at a luxury Kasbah and/or a luxury mountain riyad with mountain views, a large pool and excellent dinner of traditional homemade cuisine.
Ouarzazate & Skoura

Also touted as the “Hollywood of Morocco”, Ouarzazate and surroundings appear in “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Mountains Have Eyes,” “The Mummy,” "Gladiator" and "Game of Thrones" and features the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site - Ait Ben Haddou Qasba.
Skoura is a town in Ouarzazate Province on the way to the Sahara Desert. It consists of a modern town as well as an historical oasis and palmeraie (palm groves) with traditional rammed earth architecture.
The Sahara Desert overnight is one of this tour's most memorable highlights. Lodging is at one of the very best luxury desert camps featuring heated & air-conditioned tents. Reach the camp by camel or 4x4 before sunset, enjoy a hike up a dune to witness the beautiful sunset, shower and relax at camp before enjoying a sumptuous dinner, evening music by the fire and stargazing on pristine constellations of the desert sky.
Fez
Fez (also Fes) is a city in northern inland Morocco and the capital of the Fès-Meknès administrative region. It is the second largest city in Morocco. Located to the northwest of the Atlas Mountains, it is surrounded by hills and the old city is centered around the Fez River.
Meknes
Meknes, capital city of Morocco in the 17th century for the Sultan Moulay Ismail (an important builder but also a ruthless warrior during his 50+ year rule). Under the Sultan Meknes was developed from unimportant town into a majestic capital boating of gigantic ramparts, palaces, monumental gates and outer walls spanning 16 miles. Dominating the city’s attractions are horse stables and granaries built for the Sultan’s cavalry, colorful food markets and the giant Bab El Mansour Gate looming over El Hedim square.
Volubilis, the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site, is a partially excavated Berber-Roman city that may have been the capital of the Kingdom of Mauritania. Our tour reveals excavated 2000-year-old ruinsnoted for wonderful colored mosaics and remains of Roman monuments including the Arch of Triumph, a Temple and Basilica.
Chefchaouen
The “Blue City” of Chefchaouen in northwestern Morocco, Chefchaouen was founded in 1471 by a descendant of the Prophet Muhamed as a small fortress to defend the town against Portugese invaders. The city became a safe haven for Jews and Moors fleeing the Spanish Inquisition. During WW II Chefchaouen became a primary refuge for Jews fleeing Nazi Germany after the king of Morocco, Sultan Mohammed V, refused Germany's demands to turn over Morocco's Jewish people to the Nazis.
Tetouan
Morocco's most Andalusian city of Tetouan is so considered due to its perch on the Mediterranean coast. Tetouan boasts the country's largely untouched Medina. Museums, hikes and beaches complement the cultural allure of relaxing Tetouan.
Tangier is Morocco's "Gateway City" to Europe and its most international city where French, Spanish, German and English are spoken everywhere. The city's bustling souk features homes and storefronts that regularly changed hands in a seemingly "revolving door" as the city experienced a rotation of countries controlling the city from peaceful compacts reached between several governments. With dramatic views out to sea and a plethora of international restaurants, Tangier is a pleasant seque from weeks spent exploring a dynamic, bustling itinerary of travel and the return home or journey onward.
Rabat
Rabat, an Imperial Kingdom city, capital city of Morocco, was founded in the 12th century and is the home of the Royal Palace of Rabat, official residence of the King of Morocco. The ancient medina of Rabat is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
