Meet Our Eclipse Professor: Dr. Said Rachafi

Our renowned Eclipse professor is Dr. Said ("Sa'eed") Rachafi is Head of the Physics Department at the University of Tangier near the 2027 Eclipse site. He is the longstanding Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques at his school, earned his PhD in Atomic Physics from the University of Louvain (UVL), Belgium, and returns to UVL as visiting professor along with occasional teaching positions at  the Catholic University of Louvain and the University of Paris. We will experience the Eclipse together under the tutelage of Professor Rachafi. On August 1 Dr. Rachafi will deliver a course anticipating for the group the detailed events we are about to experience the next morning, August 2. We expect our times with the Professor will be a lifetime learning experience.

Dr. Rachafi founded the Astronomy Club at his Tangier university. He chairs conferences and roundtables on astrophysics and astronomy and their subdisciplines of granulometry and interferometry. He's also a cool and jovial guy, extremely passionate about his life's work. Along with deep technical expertise, Dr. Rachafi is fluent in basic English and plans to explain and detail the exciting solar event in terms everyone can understand. Q & A's will follow Dr. Rachafi's presentations.
